Dear Alumni

Alumni Association, HBTI, Kanpur registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and approved by Board of Governors, HBTI Kanpur, is a voluntary non-profit making association of the alumni of Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur (Now reconstituted as Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur).

It is a matter of pride for whole of alumni community to witness the transformation of our Alma Mater into a State Technical University since September 2016, which would have not been possible without the goodwill, remarkable service to the society, support and brand created by the alumni since year 1921 apart from various other factors. It is further heartening to see our Alma Mater nearing completion of a century of service to the society in the field of Engineering and Technology in year 2021. The Alumni Association aims at strengthening networking amongst its alumni and its Alma Mater. Amongst various initiatives taken by the Alumni association the organization of International Alumni Meets every year since 2005 has been witnessing overwhelming participation of alumni from India and abroad. Today, harcourtians can feel pride in relishing the success stories of Alumni who have made significant contributions for the betterment of civilization across the globe.

Over the period of time the Institution has made significant enhancements in the number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes leading to the award of B. Tech., MCA, and M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees. In the current scenario, the competitiveness in the field of Engineering & Technology needs to be catered prudently and our Alma Mater should keep pace with the fast changing technological scenario and needs to develop Centre of Excellence in various areas of Engineering & Technology which will give great impetus to its development along with strengthening it’s brand. The present students need the support of the Alumni for honing up their skills and making them compatible in the dynamics of academics and industrial requirement.

Alumni Association cordially invites you to make generous support/contributions for creation & refurbishment of infrastructure, creation of Centre of Excellence, setting of Professor Chair, Alumni Student Connect Program, encouraging short / long term Research, publication of journals/research work, Scholarship for meritorious students, etc.

With the support and involvement of alumni, the Alumni Association is determined for achieving our goals through its focuses, timebound, inclusive and transparent approach. Alumni Association has recently updated its website and will be continuously working upon it for including more modules in it so that the digital connect can be used for achieving the prescribed targets in the larger interest of present and prospective alumni along with Alma Mater.
